About Course
Navigation for Conservation is a one-day training unit covering an introduction into bush skills and navigation. This training day includes how to use a topographic map alongside a compass, understanding location awareness and determining your location on a map. There will be a special focus on the practical use of a compass and handheld GPS with their basic use and limitations. Working safely outdoors will also be covered, and the appropriate use of navigation tools e.g. map, compass and GPS.
This one-day training unit will be held on Tuesday, 15 September (9am-4pm) at Summerhill, Pāpāmoa in the Bay of Plenty. (Address & full details of the day are available once enrolled.)

- Unsuitable weather conditions (or other unforeseen circumstances) may mean we have to postpone this day. Once enrolled, any updates will be available in the course ‘Announcements’ tab no later than 8:00pm on Monday 14 September.
- Minimum enrolment numbers are required for this training day to go ahead.
