Foundations in Conservation (Ōtanewainuku Forest, 23 March 2026)

About Course

Aimed at beginners, this Foundations in Conservation training unit will provide you with essential foundations to help your conservation journey — whether that be as a volunteer, on your own land or on a career path.

Gain an understanding of the importance of conservation in Aotearoa; basic key ecological principles and the important role you can play in contributing to conservation outcomes.

This all-day training unit will be held on Monday 23 March 2026 (9am-4pm) at Ōtanewainuku Forest* – a great place to see original forest with giant trees and healthy bird life. NOTE: This training unit is also being run at other sites in the Bay of Plenty. See listings under ‘All Courses’ for further details.

*Please Note:
Unsuitable weather conditions (or other unforeseen circumstances) may mean we have to postpone this day. Once enrolled updates and options will be available in the ‘Announcements’ tab no later than 8:00pm on 22 March.
