Foundations in Conservation (Ōtanewainuku Forest, Thursday 10 September, 2026)

Aimed at beginners, this Foundations in Conservation training unit will provide you with essential foundations to help your conservation journey — whether that be as a volunteer, on your own land or on a career path.

Gain an understanding of the importance of conservation in Aotearoa; basic key ecological principles and the important role you can play in contributing to conservation outcomes.

This all-day training unit will be held on Thursday 10 September 2026 (9am-4pm) at Ōtanewainuku Forest* – a great place to see original forest with giant trees and healthy bird life.

• Unsuitable weather conditions (or other unforeseen circumstances) may mean we have to postpone this day. Once enrolled, any updates will be available in the course ‘Announcements’ tab no later than 8:00pm on Wednesday 9 September.
• Minimum enrolment numbers are required for this training day to go ahead.
