Identifying NZ Birds (Ōhiwa Headland/Spit, 25 April 2026)

About Course

This Identifying NZ Birds training unit is designed not to teach you every species of bird, but is instead intended to teach you how to identify birds.

You will learn the steps to take to identify birds both by sight and sound in the field, as well as using other methods. You will also learn how to identify bird sounds. The day will be spent in the field practising hands-on skills with the variety of birds we find around us.

NEW DATE: This training unit will be held on Saturday, 25 April 2026, (7:00am-1:00pm) at Ōhiwa Domain, located on the Ōhiwa Headland*
